11.)The gig is up for Oliver. He had a good run for a few weeks there but his production has trailed off enough for San Diego to welcome back Ryan Mathews with open arms. Sure Oliver might still have a role in the backfield, but it’ll be a complimentary one or a specialization on 3rd down.
I don’t see him retaining any value for a pass catching back as he was not regularly doing that in the featured role. Oddly enough neither Mathews nor Donald Brown excels here either. Maybe the search is not yet over for someone to fill the Danny Woodhead role. I should go apply for the job! As for Oliver who really knows what his role in the offense will be going forward. My guess would be as a backup to Mathews with occasional change of pace status.
8.)Branden Oliver (84%) = Stock dropping with Donald Brown and Ryan Mathews slate to return. Effectiveness reduced in past 2 weeks.
7.)Branden Oliver (84%) = Came back to earth vs KC and ownership too high.
